Even Addictive Games Promote Family Values
Executive summary about Addictive Games By Chris Robertson
While moderation and self-control may be important considerations when playing video games and online games, I believe a case can be made that some addictive games promote family values. I’m from a family of avid gamers – and this was long before the advent of video games and online games. In our family, we didn’t only play card addictive games. We played every kind of addictive games imaginable – board games, travel games, Mah Jong, outdoor games – you name it. There’s no question in my mind that the addictive games we played united our family and taught us important life lessons. My son has inherited my love of games and puzzles. To be honest, I couldn’t wait until he got old enough to start playing kid’s games. Play on!

The skill gaming market or casual games market, as it is more commonly known, has become big business in recent years; it has become attractive to investors and entrepreneurs alike. The casual games business reaches virtually all demographic sectors, with women in their forties comprising the typical casual game player. Today, addictive online games are some of the ’stickiness’ forms of web-based entertainment and it is therefore not surprising that skill games websites are among the highest ranked and most visited sites on the web. In the past, online games entertainment content was dominated by game reviews but this has now been replaced by the actual games themselves. Statistics show that women spend a great deal longer playing these addictive games each week than compared to men. On average, women spend 9.1 hours per week playing online games compared to just 6.1 hours with men.
There is a glut of companies competing for a share of the online skill games profits.
